Hi everyone i have a 2002 hilux turbo diesel running on Lpg it has only done 90000 kms and has been serviced on time every time by a toyota dealer. i was towing my caravan three weeks ago through heavy traffic and it started to over heat and cracked the head. i had it repaired at a toyota (witch cost me $4100) dealer and they told me they couldn't find why it done it. does any one have any ideas what could have caused this and has anyone else had this happen to them with such low Kms on it?

I presume this is a 1kz-te engine.. these things are prone to cracking heads when towing heavy loads . there is no tru fix for this other than regularly service your cooling system you can also put a bigger exhaust system on apparently that helps.... a bigger radiator.... my advice would be don't load the engine up keep it in a lower gear at higher revs when pulling up hills make sure your cooling system is in good nick which I'm sure Toyota would have done a new water pump and coolant when they did the head. also make sure your viscous fan is working o.k

Mmmmm....... I would suggest not altering the factory fuel system, I'm surprised the dealership didn't say anything about that.
