Hi,
I have just last week bought the new Corolla Edge, at the time of pickup there were 7 klms on the clock and now just under 250 klms, well today driving to work, I was changing from 2nd to 3rd and crunch in the gearbox at first I thought I had picked the wrong gear but I got it right, and from that moment on the gearbox started whining and was notchy during shifts, I went straight to toyota and sure enough they said it noisy in all gears, Toyota have given me a loaner for the day.
This afternoon I went back to them thinking what ever it was, would be simple and easy fix and I'd be picking up my car, having not heard from them throughout the day.
A bit of back ground about me and I'm trying to change, normally something like this would have me yelling at some manager, but I have tryed to smile and just go with it, so this afternoon Toyota told me to keep the loan car and they are pulling out my gearbox as they have found metal in it.
Wow deep breath Stuart, trying to smile and go ok. and just let them do there job.
I have to say I feel very upset and now wonder what else is going to be next with this car and what is wrong for this to happen (toyotas words are they have never seen it happen so early) I'm just not comfortable with this situation, and also knowing once something like a gearbox comes out of a car it's never the same again.
I kinda want a complete replacement car (only it took a month for this one to be delivered and I dont really want to wait another month for another one).
I would be very interested if anyone has had somthing simular happen and what chances I would have if I told them I want a new car.
